So v2.11.4 has been published to fix a serious crash bug on install some people were getting with v2.11.3 (I really apologize for that one). Also fixed was some of the HQF ship bonus settings that were set to similarly named, but wrong attributes. Please keep listing any fitting errors related to the new bonuses on the issue tracker and we will address them.
On top of all this, the CCP data that was exported for Retribution has some serious bugs relating to market groups of items (eve-o forums). This will manifest itself in the HQF plug in as market groups in the navigation tree that are missing sub-branches or items, or no results when you right click on a fitted module and select “Show Market Group” from the menu (there are reports of errors on this action too). I’ve tried to fix some of the data holes, but there are quite a few and I am hoping CCP issues another data export file soon instead. A data base update will be published as soon as CCP issues a new file.
Searching for modules by name still work, so you can get around the lack of market groups by using the text input.
Error 106 is returned when EveHQ is unable to communicate with the Eve API Server. CCP did some changes earlier this week that turned off HTTP communication with the API server, and now only allows connections via the HTTPS protocol. The default setting in EveHQ for the Eve API server was http://api.eveonline.com in v2.11.0, which is incompatible with how things are now, however the v2.11.1 and v2.11.2 updates changed this default to https://api.eveonline.com.
If you are still errors when trying to retrieve API updates with EveHQ, here are some common troubleshooting steps I’ve gone through with a few people directly:
- Check the Eve API server setting. It should be set to https://api.eveonline.com
This is my Eve API server settings screen.
- The use “API Proxy Server” setting should be unchecked, unless you DO use a proxy server and there is a valid value in the “API Proxy Server Address” field. If you use a proxy server, the other check box “Use CCP API server as Backup” would also be a good thing to have checked, as EveHQ will attempt to go direct to CCP if the proxy server isn’t available.
In most scenarios however, the proxy settings should be disabled as they are not needed. Unless you explicitly know you need them (and know the settings), turn them off.
- Once changes have been made to api server settings, you can validate they work by forcing an api update, via the “Update API” button on the Core tab of the UI. If by chance the bad result is cached, you can clear the character information cache via the command under the “Clear Cache” dropdown box on the Core tab. After clearing the cache, press the Update API button again to have the system check.
If you are still getting Error 106 and your settings match mine for the API server location, please comment in this thread or send me an email, and we’ll try and figure it out.
